Carl W. Underland, Founder & CEO - Mr. Underland handled all of the provider contracting for the facilities and programs under his purview as CEO of Voorhees Pediatric Health System (VPHS) and Weisman Children's Rehabilitation Hospital (WCRH), both for-profit health care organizations, for over 16 years. Prior to forming Carlisle and Associates, Mr. Underland had been with NuVision Management, Inc. since 1986 where he held the position of VP/COO. He has over 24 years of healthcare delivery, technology, financial, operational, and entrepreneurial experience. Mr. Underland holds an MSW and MBA in Healthcare Administration.
Robert A. McKeown, Senior Vice President - Contracting - Prior to teaming with Carlisle and Associates, Mr. McKeown served as Independence Blue Cross' (IBC) Senior VP, Provider Contracting and Services for over 20 years. He was responsible for contract negotiations, contract administration, reimbursement issues and provider relations for hospitals, and their affiliated physician and ancillary providers, as well as capitated lab, radiology and physical therapy programs and ancillary providers in Pennsylvania and Delaware, accounting for annual medical costs of $3 billion. Mr. McKeown has 30 years of healthcare industry experience and is widely considered a leading expert in the managed care contracting field. Subsequent to leaving IBC and prior to joining Carlisle and Associates, Mr. McKeown served as an independent consultant providing contract negotiating advisory services to hospitals and physician groups.
